christmas in july.

Spring break in September is like Christmas in July. It just seems backwards somehow. Backwards in a really good, exciting kind of way. Backwards in a "hey, this shouldn't be happening right now, but I'm pretty psyched it is" kind of way.
It's spring break here at UCT, and it feels like Christmas came early.

Sunscreen? Check.
Sleeping bag? Check.
Malaria pills? Check.
Neutral clothing, as to not scare off wildlife? Check.

Get at me, safari.

Here's a little outline of where I'll be and when in case you're like my mama and just feel better knowing these things:

Sat, 9/3: Fly from Cape Town to Johannesburg; drive to Botswana; set up camp at Camp Itumela, Palapye
Sun, 9/4: Drive to and set up camp at Sitatunga Camp, Maun
Mon, 9/5: Canoe through Okavango Delta; set up camp on riverbank
Tues, 9/6: Canoe through Okavango Delta; set up camp on riverbank
Wed, 9/7: Meet truck in Maun; Drive to Planet Baobab
Thurs, 9/8: Drive to Chobe, Kasane
Fri, 9/9: Drive to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Sat, 9/10: Activities at Vic Falls
Sun, 9/11: Activities at Vic Falls
Mon, 9/12: Drive to Zambia; Fly to Johannesburg and on to Cape Town

There's more details, obviously, but you'll get those later.
If you're a praying person, we'd love your prayers. If you're not, send us good juju anyway.
Catch ya lata, South Africa. It's safari time.
